For labs that use a cell viability / cytotoxicity assay kit today For research use only

Same protocol as CCK-8.
Test it on one plate.

EZ-Cytox is a WST cell viability reagent. You add it and read the plate. You use it the same way as your current cell viability / cytotoxicity assay kit. Add 10 µL per well. Incubate at 37 °C. Read at 450 nm. Does it give the same result on your cells and your compounds? A web page cannot answer that. One plate, half with each kit, can.

Three reasons to test EZ-Cytox, even if CCK-8 works well for you

We do not ask you to trust a claim. We ask you to read one plate.

A price made for grant-funded labs

We make EZ-Cytox in our own facility. So we can price it for labs that pay for reagents from grants and teaching budgets. Reagent prices differ a lot by country and reseller. So we do not print one price for every market. We quote by country, pack size, volume and terms. You can ask for a quote with the test kit or on its own. Telling us what you pay today is optional.

Same steps as CCK-8: add, incubate, read

EZ-Cytox is a water-soluble tetrazolium (WST) reagent. It comes as a sterile, ready-to-use premix. Add 1/10 volume, incubate, read at 450 nm. No solubilisation step. No wash. Works with suspension or adherent cells, in 6- to 384-well plates. The handling is the same as CCK-8. How the signal behaves on your cell lines, densities and compounds is something you check on the bench. A datasheet cannot tell you that. That is the point of the split plate.

You talk directly to the maker

DoGENBio develops, makes and fills EZ-Cytox in Seoul. Each lot is tested on live cells and released with a certificate of analysis. Technical questions go to the people who make the reagent. We commit to reply within 48 hours on business days. Your question does not pass through three layers of distributors.

Step-by-step comparison: CCK-8 vs EZ-Cytox

This table shows which steps are the same when you run a CCK-8 protocol with EZ-Cytox. It also shows what you should check on your own cells first.

CCK-8 values are from the Dojindo CK04 technical manual. EZ-Cytox values are from the DoGENBio product manual and catalogue. Test counts for both assume 10 µL per well. Blanks, controls and repeats also use reagent. Both reagents are for research use only.

Same handling does not mean same numbers. Any two WST reagents can differ in reaction speed, dynamic range and interference from coloured or redox-active compounds. Normalising to an untreated control makes the data the same in format, not always in value. Run a bridging plate for each cell line and each type of treatment. Keep it in the study file. Do not switch reagents in the middle of a study without recording the bridge.

Which pack replaces which, and how we quote

This table maps Dojindo catalogue numbers to DoGENBio catalogue numbers. It is for lab managers and distributors. We do not print prices here. The same kit sells at very different prices in Kumamoto, Maryland and Bangkok. So we quote EZ-Cytox by country, against what you pay today. The quote comes with the test kit.

Dojindo catalogue numbers and volumes are from dojindo.com (September 2026). DoGENBio volumes are from the EZ-Cytox catalogue. Other kits map the same way: SOD Assay Kit-WST to EZ-SOD, GSSG/GSH Quantification Kit (G257) to EZ-Glutathione, Glucose Assay Kit-WST (G264) to EZ-Glucose, Lactate Assay Kit-WST (L256) to EZ-Lactate, NAD/NADH Assay Kit-WST (N509) to EZ-NAD/NADH, Griess reagent kit to EZ-Nitric Oxide. Dojindo has no equivalent for the EZ-Western ECL substrates, the collagen kit or the total antioxidant capacity kit.

How we quote: by country, pack size, yearly volume and terms. Prices are ex-works Seoul, with freight and duties shown separately. Once a distributor is appointed, quotes come through the distributor. You can ask for a quote with the test kit or without a sample. Telling us what you pay today is optional. It helps us reply in your local terms. Compare like with like: the same pack size, and the total delivered cost including freight, duties and taxes.

Common questions from CCK-8 users

Is the chemistry the same as WST-8?

Both are water-soluble tetrazolium salts. Cell dehydrogenases turn them into an orange formazan that dissolves in the medium. Both are read at 450 nm. DoGENBio labels EZ-Cytox as a WST reagent. The exact tetrazolium and formulation are DoGENBio's own. They are stated in the technical documents that come with the test kit. At the bench, what matters is that the reagent volume, incubation time, wavelength and plate handling are the same.

Can I compare my old CCK-8 data with EZ-Cytox data?

Not automatically. Percent-of-control normalisation removes the difference in absolute OD. It does not remove differences in reaction speed, dynamic range or compound interference. Treat the split plate as a first check. Then run a bridging plate for each cell line and treatment type you rely on. For a long study, the safe choice is to finish it with the reagent you started with. Change at the next study.

What about phenol red, serum and reducing agents?

The same rules as any WST assay. Phenol red is handled by blank subtraction. Reducing agents such as ascorbate or DTT can reduce tetrazolium directly. If your compounds contain them, include a reagent blank with no cells.

Does it work with suspension cells and leukocytes?

Yes. Slow-metabolising or low-density cultures need the longer end of the incubation range. EZ-Cytox Plus (EZ-3000P) is the more sensitive version for those cases.

Can I run LDH or a Western blot on the same cells afterwards?

Yes. The premix is not toxic to the cells and needs no lysis. Many labs run EZ-Cytox and EZ-LDH on the same plate. This separates growth inhibition from membrane damage. Then they lyse the cells for protein.

How long is shipping to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur or Singapore, and how is it packed?

Stock is held in Seoul. Each product is stored and shipped at its labelled condition (refrigerated or frozen, stated per SKU). The packaging matches that condition. Express courier to Southeast Asian hubs usually takes 3–5 days. Once a distributor is appointed for a territory, stock is held locally.

Three measurements from one set of cells

A drop in viability does not tell you why. Some labs need to separate growth inhibition from cell death, or check the energy state of the cells. They plan three measurements on cells from the same seeding.

ViabilityEZ-Cytox, WST, 450 nm

Dehydrogenase activity of living cells. The first screening measurement.

Membrane damageEZ-LDH, 450 nm, same plate

LDH released from damaged cells. Separates cytotoxicity from growth inhibition. Also the standard measurement for ADCC, CDC and NK killing assays.

A step-by-step protocol sheet comes with the bundle. Check three things in your own system before you use the combination for decisions. First, the run order. Second, how you sample the supernatant for LDH. Third, interference from coloured or redox-active compounds. Storage: EZ-Cytox and the LDH assay buffer at 0–4 °C; LDH substrate and ATP kit components at −20 °C.

The split-plate test

One plate. One afternoon. Your cells and your plate reader. You keep the data, whatever the result.

Tell us your setup

Your cell line, seeding density, the compounds or conditions you already test, your current kit and your plate reader.

We ship the kit

We send an EZ-Cytox test pack with a one-page split-plate protocol. EZ-LDH and EZ-ATP can be added on request. It ships at its labelled storage condition (refrigerated or frozen) to your lab or your distributor.

You run one plate, in your lab

Seed the whole plate the same way. Add your current reagent to columns 1–6 and EZ-Cytox to columns 7–12. Incubate both for the same time. Read at 450 nm. After your usual culture and treatment time, the measurement itself takes 30 min to 4 h.

Compare, then decide

The data is yours. If you want a second opinion, send us the reader export. We send back a short comparison (CVs, correlation, plate map). If the results do not match, tell us. That result is useful to us too.

Request a test kit or a quote, or ask about becoming a distributor

Please do not include patient data or confidential formulation details. A general description is enough to start.

We use your details only to answer this request and, if you ask for one, to ship a test kit. We reply within two working days. No newsletter.
Request received We have sent a confirmation to your email. A person will reply within two working days. If nothing arrives, write to robin@dogenbio-global.com.

For distributors: what you get from working with the manufacturer

DoGENBio is appointing one partner per territory in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines will follow. Choose "Become a distributor" in the request form. The form then shows the questions we need for a territory discussion.

Territory rights in a written agreement

Territory, yearly targets and any exclusivity are set only in a signed distribution agreement. The agreement is reviewed every year. Nothing on this page grants or promises exclusivity.

Margin for a price-led product line

Your supply price is set per territory. It depends on local market conditions, pack mix and committed volume. It leaves room for a competitive shelf price and a marketing contribution in year one. We share price lists under NDA once the territory discussion starts.

Test kits for your key accounts

We provide split-plate kits for the labs you choose. They decide on their own data, not on a sales pitch.

Reference list by field and cell line

A sorted list of the 634 published uses. Your sales team can give an oncology lab oncology papers, and a dermatology lab skin papers.

Technical support direct from the manufacturer

We reply within 48 hours on business days. This is written into the distribution agreement. Your product managers talk to the scientists who make the reagent.

Storage condition stated per product

Each lot comes with a certificate of analysis. A storage table lists the condition for each SKU (refrigerated or frozen). So nothing is shipped or stored at the wrong temperature. Shipping packaging matches each product's condition.

Fit with your current brands, discussed openly

If you do not sell a cell viability / cytotoxicity assay kit today, this line adds a new category. If you do, EZ-Cytox is aimed at price-sensitive customers: teaching labs, publicly funded groups and high-volume screening. We work out with you how it fits next to your current brand, territory by territory, before either side commits.

Three product groups in one shipment

Cell analysis kits lead. ECL substrates and the 23 assay kits ship in the same consignment, each at its labelled storage condition. They help you grow the account.

OEM and private-label supply

We can also supply EZ-Cytox, EZ-LDH, the ECL substrates and the assay kits under your own label. Scope, pack formats, minimum quantities and documents are agreed per project. See the OEM section above, or choose "OEM / private-label supply" in the request form.
